چکیده

ABSTRACT Introduction: Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a non-invasive technique that used in the assessment of tissue oxygenation and monitoring physical activity. Objective: To determine influence sexual, anthropometric ergospirometric factors on muscle quadriceps gastrocnemius, obtained by NIRS during stress test. Methods: Twenty healthy subjects participated this study (10 women). Two Humon Hex® devices were placed dominant side gastrocnemius muscles to measure oxygen saturation (SmO2). The test was performed treadmill with electrocardiographic control measurement consumption. SmO2 at rest after maximum effort In addition, height, weight, skinfold waist contour measured. Bioimpedance obtain percentages fat mass mass, which calculate relative (RFM). Results: both higher males than females. At effort, similar groups. positively related body percentage contour, negatively fat, RFM thickness. negative correlation between more evident It observed variables quantify are not values, except for HR max males. Conclusion: recreational athletes influenced location device subjects. biggest differences sexes muscle. Level Evidence II; Diagnostic Studies - Investigating Test .

Quadriceps oxygenation during isometric exercise in sailing.

The aim of the present study was to investigate why blood lactate after prolonged quadriceps contraction during hiking is only marginally increased. Eight sailors performed five 3-min hiking bouts interspersed with 5-s recovery periods. Whole body oxygen uptake, heart rate and lactate were recorded, along with continuous-wave near-infrared spectroscopy measures of quadriceps oxygenation. The ti...

Differences between the Vastus Lateralis and Gastrocnemius Lateralis in the Assessment Ability of Breakpoints of Muscle Oxygenation for Aerobic Capacity Indices During an Incremental Cycling Exercise.

In recent years, breakpoints (Bp) of muscle oxygenation have been measured in local muscles using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to assess (predict) systemic aerobic capacity indices [lactate threshold (LT), gas exchange threshold (GET) and maximal oxygen uptake (VO2peak)]. We investigated muscular differences in the assessment (predictive) ability of the Bp of muscle oxygenation for aerobic...

Influence of muscle fibre composition on muscle oxygenation during maximal running

AIMS To investigate the relationship between muscle oxygenation (specifically, the levels of oxygenated haemoglobin and myoglobin [oxyHb/Mb]) during maximal running and muscle fibre composition, and to determine whether muscle fibre composition can be non-invasively estimated from oxyHb/Mb levels during maximal running. METHODS Eight male runners ([Formula: see text], 60.9± 4.6 mL·kg-1·min-1)...

Effect of arterial oxygenation on quadriceps fatigability during isolated muscle exercise.

The effect of various levels of oxygenation on quadriceps muscle fatigability during isolated muscle exercise was assessed in six male subjects. Twitch force (Q(tw)) was assessed using supramaximal magnetic femoral nerve stimulation. In experiment 1, maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) and Q(tw) of resting quadriceps muscle were measured in normoxia [inspired O(2) fraction (Fi(O(2))) = 0.21, pe...

Electromyographic Activity of the Medial Gastrocnemius and Lateral Gastrocnemius Muscle during Salat-s and Specific Exercise

This paper investigates the activity of the gastrocnemius (Gas) muscle in healthy subjects during salat (ruku’ position) and specific exercise [Unilateral Plantar Flexion Exercise (UPFE)] using electromyography (EMG). Both lateral and medial Gas muscles were assessed. A group of undergraduates aged between 19 to 25 years voluntarily participated in this study. The myoelectric activity of the mu...
